Genre-defining heavyweights Erra and Currents bring The Silence Follows Tour to the Southwest as they come to Albuquerque’s legendary Sunshine theater on Wednesday, April 15th, 2026. Also performing Caskets and Aviana round out this incredible roster. Gates open at 6:30pm.
It feels like it has been a while since we last heard from Post-Rock/Progressive Metal band Erra, who are from Birmingham, Alabama and who released their fourth full length album “Cure” in April 2024. Connecticut’s Currents is a djent metal band based out of Southington, Connecticut.Check out some of their material from 2023 with the song “The Death We Seek” as well as some of their more recent material with “It Only Gets Darker” from 2025.

This spring Erra and Currents will embark on The Silence Follows Tour 2026, a monumental trek across North America featuring Baltimore, Raleigh, New York, Toronto, Chicago and Denver as well as several European dates and 2 nights at KamFest. The EPIC night of progressive metalcore comes to the Sunshine theatre here in central Albuquerque, New Mexico on Wednesday, April 15th, 2026. Doors are 6:30pm with music starting at 7:30pm. This show will also feature music from Caskets and Aviana.
Formed in 2009 in Birmingham, Alabama, Erra is a metalcore band characterized by their highly intricate guitar work and ethereal arrangements. They have several songs included in some of our fan playlists such as Cure, Neon and Rumor of Light. Erra released their 6th studio album titled Cure on April 5, 2024. The band released their first single in a new era of music in January 2026 titled further eden since 2013 the band has toured with many other notable bands including Periphery, August Burns Red and The Contortionist. The band was named after the Akkadian god of mayhem and pestilence, and is also a fitting name for the music they create. Erra has released 6 full length studio albums and 3 EPs.
Currents is a metalcore band from Newtown, Connecticut, formed in 2011. Characterized by their djent metalcore sound with shredding guitars and a mix of atmosphere and ambiance, Currents music will leave you feeling emotionally drained. Some of their popular songs include “The Death We Seek,” “Remember Me,” and more. Their album The Death We Seek was released on May 5th, 2023, and as of now they are considered one of the top metalcore bands. The band further cemented their position in the metalcore scene with the release of “It Only Gets Darker” in July 2025. Their album The Way It Ends was internet praised as one of the best metalcore albums of 2020, and Currents are considered to be one of the biggest newcomers to the metalcore genre.
The Sunshine Theater is a super friendly historic theater perfect for a great live metalcore show. Located at 120 Central Ave SW in downtown Albuquerque. The bar will be fully stocked all night long. Food is limited on premises but we highly recommend stopping by the 505 Food Hall. With a capacity of 1,000 and are usually a general admission, standing room show with a few scattered tables and stools throughout the main floor as well as a balcony on a first come, first served basis.
